Meet your Photographer:
My name is Vera Smirnova. I am currently located in the lovely town of Los Altos in San Francisco bay Area in the beautiful state of California. I got my first camera at the age of twelve from my father, who was a geologist, wilderness explorer and avid photographer. Since then, I went through a long and adventurous photographer's path:
As an avid hiker I've spent a lot of time hiking mountains and photographing nature during my university years.
As an extravert, I was always interested in people around me, watching them, talking to them, photographing them, trying to understand their motives.
As a scientific researcher in the field of physical chemistry, I spent quite a bit of time in the darkroom mastering advanced aspects of the photo development processes.
And today, being an artist, I refer to my camera as of my “third eye” with the deepest meaning of this word. When I look through my camera I always try to see more than just my subject's outer appearance. I believe that everyone is a unique and beautiful person. My goal as a photographer is to uncover and reflect your uniqueness, resulting in portraits which will stand out for years to come. I shoot with the professional camera Canon 5D Mark II in my studio and on locations.
